About the Event
When: July 17, 10 am
Where: Location Pending: Start at the County Line Trailhead and ride the loop! It is only 6.2 (10k) miles and flat enough to ride a single speed. After we complete the loop, we will descend the mountain and end at the bike shop in Cedaredge, most like down the Old Grand Mesa Shuttle Run, but maybe pipeline road through Hell's Kitchen... we'll see how much courage we have that day...
Description: The Grand Mesa is a place of great mountain biking potential that is yet untapped. We are involved with other groups that are seeking to build, improve, and maintain a network of trails on the Grand Mesa. Being our first season, we simply do not have the resources to create a new downhill enduro trail with all else we have going on. We are working towards that goal however and will likely have a better chance of having the race next year!
Equipment Restrictions: Mountain Bike - bring what you want, but it's very rocky, and skinny tires won't hold up to the abuse.Â
Safety Equipment Requirements: Bike helmet
Course Conditions: Flat single track on County Line; mix of paved, gravel, jeep trail, and single track on the way down, depending on the route taken.Â
Equipment Advantages: none
Age Restrictions: All ages welcome!
Prizes: No prizes this time, but we will have shirts for sale that say something like "I survived the Grand Mesa Downhill" or something clever (we like being clever).Â
