Downhill Mountain Bike Klunker Run

Meet at 3 pm at the Silent Custom Cyclery parking lot. We will shuttle up to the top and begin the ride at the Grand Mesa Visitor's Center around 4pm. Should be back down the mountain just in time for the Chili Cook-off! 

The ride starts off with some rolling hills and there are two routes: One is very little climbing and just a straight bomb down. The alternative route goes a bit farther out and up for even MORE descending but ends in the same place. They both begin on Forest Route 121. For a quick downhill, take the first downhill right off of 121. For a bit more climbing and cross country riding on the top of Mesa, stay on 121 for a few more miles until you hit Old Grand Mesa Road, where there is more climbing and finally the grand descent! Both routes take you to Hwy 65 and Old Grand Mesa Road, where we will regroup and start stage 2.

Stage two begins across the highway from Old Grand Mesa Road and Hwy 65. Just follow the road down. It starts off as a double track with plenty of baby head rocks and then there is a killer jump as the road turns into groomed gravel, where it later empties out again onto Hwy 65. From here, we just take paved roads back to town! ALL Downhill!
