Tour de Cedaredge 40 Mile Road Race

When: June 19, 7:30 check-in Race begins at 8:30 am Sharp

Where: Start at Silent Custom Cyclery parking lot. The route starts at SCC, heads north and then west on Main up Cedar Mesa, over to Redlands Mesa, and through the town of Austin and up through the country roads back up to Cedaredge! Map available here (coming soon). 

Description: This a tour of Cedaredge from the tops of Cedar and Redlands mesas before it sweeps down into the canyon into Austin, back up through canyons, and winding back to Cedaredge. This is a 40-mile road ride that you will feel in your legs for sure! There is a little over 2500 feet of elevation gain over the course, but plenty of gorgeous vistas to take in and some thrilling descents as well. The road is open to normal highway traffic, but there is little traffic on most of the route, except for a portion that goes between Payne Siding Road and Austin for a few miles, but there is a very wide and recently paved shoulder and that is the only highway riding on the course. Please observe normal traffic rules.

Official Route: Begin at the parking lot in front of Silent Custom Cycley and turn right on the bike path following Hwy 65. Merge to the Highway when safe. 

Turn Right on East Main Street and head east towards Cedar Mesa

Turn Right on Cedar Mesa Road and wind on up the grade to the stop sign

Continue Straight onto Q50 Road and turn Right on to 2550 Rd at the T intersection

Follow onto Q25 and turn Right onto 2600 Road to the stop sign

Turn Left onto Cedar Mesa Road and continue East

Merge Right onto Rimrock Road and head up to Redlands  Mesa

Turn Left at Redlands Mesa Road

At the Stop Sign, Turn Right onto 2900 Road

At the Stop Sign, Turn Right onto North Road and enjoy the views!

Turn Left onto Payne Siding Road and prepare for the descent!

Turn Right onto US Hwy 92

Turn Right onto Main Street in Austin

Turn Right onto Austin Road and head up

Turn Left at the Recycle Center onto Fairview Road

Carefully Turn Right onto US Hwy 65 and then immediately Left to Stay on FairView

Turn Right at the bottom of the hill onto Tongue Creek Road

Turn Right onto Trap Club Road and head towards the Grand Mesa

Turn Right onto North Road and then Left onto Ward Creek Road

Take a Sharp Right onto R Road and prepare for an HC rated Climb!

Turn Left at Happy Hollow Road

Turn Right at NW Sage Ave

Turn Right onto US Hwy 65 and Finish at the intersection of Greenwood Ave (Silent Custom Cyclery) and Hwy 65. 

Turn around when safe and recover at the shop!

Equipment Restrictions: BYOB or use one of our Certified, Race-Ready bikes (First come First served on in-house bikes, limited loaner supply available); otherwise no restrictions - bring your best and fastest bike!

Safety Equipment: Bike Helmet

Course Conditions: All paved roads, no gravel, some highway, and most country roads without motorist restrictions (always watch for traffic). Long uphill and downhill grades that appear relatively flat.

Age Groups: Except for riders under 10 years, there are separate categories for boys/girls, men, and women.

Old enough to ride through12 years

        13 years - 19 years

        20 years – 35 years

        36 years – 49 years

        50 years and older

Prize: The winner in each category receives a jackpot based on the number of participants.
