This beautiful Japanese steel lugged frame is mostly stock, but has been mated with modern double-wall Shimano 700c wheels with 700 x 40c Continental gravel tires! Ready to explore the great state of Colorado and beyond with a wide range 9-speed cassette in the rear wheel. The Suntour Stem shifters sync perfectly with the nine-speed as if they were decades ahead of their time! There is no other bike like this and it is hand-built and rebuilt! Tested recently ascending and descending the Grand Mesa via Surface Creek Rd from the owner's house in Colby, CO. Outfitted with Fyxnation Mesa platform pedals, leather bar tape, and a recently added brand new Brooks Flyer saddle, unbroken.
The signature series means the owner of the shop rides these bikes regularly because they are just great bikes! Yes, it's $9k for this gem. Try it first... you'll see.
Why this bike is expensive AF: Because it rides good AF! The Japanese have always been masters of steel forging and the bikes that came out of this era are like nothing else. Paired with the right wheels and that Silent treatment, you have a ride that is appealing to ride as it is to look at, and can still take the abuse of a rough gravel road. Brooks saddle and bar tape. And I don't wanna sell it.
